Fighting Biden’s Gas Stove Rule

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and I introduced a disapproval resolution under the Congressional Review Act (CRA), which aims to overturn a Department of Energy ‘Green New Deal’ rule mandating gas furnaces to convert at least 95% of fuel into heat, effectively prohibiting non-condensing models.

Status: Introduced

Our Take:

This Biden Department of Energy Rule is nothing more than a backdoor ban on gas stoves, part of his regulatory assault on American energy and consumers. By eliminating a huge portion of the gas stove industry, this rule will significantly increase consumer costs, requiring them to purchase electric stoves or pay thousands of dollars to meet the new regulatory standards.

This is a big government power grab and a workaround for the radical Left’s failed ‘Green New Deal’ climate agenda in the House of Representatives. It is anti-capitalist, anti-consumer, and, quite simply, bad for Americans.

“The Biden administration is once again bending to the will of the extreme Green New Deal agenda. The Department of Energy wants to ask working-class Americans with gas furnaces to replace them with electrical ones, limiting choices, further burdening the electrical grid, and unnecessarily costing families thousands of dollars. The far-left is trying to force their agenda by any means possible, including directly into the homes of the American people. My colleagues and I will do everything we can to keep that from happening.” – Michelle Fischbach
